An Empirical Research Of Automobile Industry Cluster In Nanchang

In the context of economic globalization, according to the traditional trade theory of factor price equalization theorem, there is no reasons for the development of industry cluster. However, the facts are that the general development of industrial clusters has become a mainstream of industrial development in the world, and it is a very important form of economic organization in the current international economic development and the government’s industrial planning. It can be able to produce such a large of effects since its formation will enable enterprises to reduce costs and to enjoy massive economic effects and the external economic effects, thus it can promote the whole industrial development and the technological progress. The automotive industry is an important part of the industrialization; it has a strong economic pull effect and the high contribution to the regional economic development. Looking at the way to success of the powerful automobile industry country, they all grow up with the method of the industry cluster.This paper firstly introduces the automotive industry cluster and some basic theories of industry clusters, and then lays analysis on some developed countries’ experience in forming the industry cluster, followed by some examples, such as: America developed automobile industry by mass production, Japan by Lean production and Turin by automotive design. Then it introduces the current development status of the six automobile industry clusters in our country as well as the vehicle manufacturing and parts industry of Nanchang city. Then absorbing domestic and foreign successful model, summing up experiences and lessons for avoiding to waste resources.In addition to the theoretical analysis, the main part of this paper is an empirical analysis of the automobile industry cluster in Nanchang. Firstly, using the location quotient coefficient method, the overall automotive industry, vehicle manufacturing and parts industry cluster level of Nanchang was calculated, then finding that the vehicle manufacturing industry is developing rapidly, but the parts industry is not coordinated with the vehicle development, the speed is relatively slower, but they are all below the national average. After mastering the generalizations of the automobile industry clusters in Nanchang, the article assumes that it has mainly seven factors for researching the factors impacting its development. Then checking out the seven factors by Factor Analysis. And then taking the various factors with the explanatory variables that this article assumes for regression analysis to get the impact of various factors on the development of the automobile industry cluster. Finally, To be able to promote the development of automobile industry, six countermeasures are offered for the various factors that affect the automotive industry cluster development of Nanchang in this paper:Increasing the expenditures of the government research funding and to improve the investment environment for the promotion of FDI in growth; Promoting the development of common technology and cooperation and innovation among automobile enterprises; Accelerating the development of the auto parts industry for promoting the realization of the coordinated development of the automobile companies; Actively expanding automobile consumer market and promoting the consumer’ interests; Also increasing R&D efforts in new energy vehicles to fight the patent competitiveness in new areas; Actively introducing investment in large projects, taking the implementation of the cooperation strategy with the dominant brand, and promoting the progress based on the leading enterprises.
