A Study On The Urban Sustainable Development Based On Eco-city Construction

With the deepening development of the urbanization process, sharp increase in urban population and pollution, also the eco-environmental quality declined gradually. City where contradiction centralized became a fragile artificial ecosystem, exploring the intension and direction about urban development, planning the most wonderful blueprint for the urban future, achieving a healthy survival and sustainable development have become international consensus, it has made sustainable development a necessity for the importance of ecological protection function and a kind of growth of low quality in Zhangye.This study analyzed and summarized the connotation of sustainable development and the eco-city based on the theory of sustainable development, and discussed the relationship between eco-city construction and sustainable development. Followed, presented the general situation of the study area and evaluated the social and economic development level using factor analysis method, constructed the sustainable development index system of eco-city construction after reviewed its history, then evaluated the sustainable level of the study area comprehensively. Finally, discussed the countermeasures and suggestion for realizing the goal of eco-city construction and sustainable development, provided a research foundation and practical guiding for eco-city construction and sustainable development.This study indicates that Zhangye development has gone through three different stages between2001and2009a, the sustainable development level is promoted gradually and will reach to the ideal level in2015. According to the evaluation results and sustainable development theory, in order to be eco-city and promote the sustainable development of Zhangye, the urgent task is to speed up the industrial transformation, economic development ecology, to strengthen the ecological environment construction protection and enhance the environment bearing capacity, to explore and use resources reasonable realizing the sustainable utilization of the resources, to complete public service system improving the living standards, to perfect support and guarantee system promoting regional management and operation level.
