The microwave landing system adopts micro strip phased array antenna, invar waveguide, as an important part of antenna, its processing precision directly influences the pointing precision of antenna. As to phased array antenna, the antenna pointing precision is a principal specification in weighing the performance of phased array antenna. According to the batch production demand of a landing system, this paper firstly discusses the relationship between antenna structure characteristics, antenna performance and waveguide as well as the theories foundation of selecting the invar waveguide. Analyzing the waveguide structure technique on this basis and giving a brief introduction on concept and type of residual stress.On the basis of theories of metal plastic deformation and elastic-plastic deformation, establishing the finite element models of waveguide pulling by using DEFORM finite element analysis software, and carrying out the analysis calculation on residual stress and strain, successfully working out the distribution rules of residual stress and strain came into being during the pulling procedure of waveguide.In this paper, the materials and heat treatment mechanism of invar waveguide are explained in detail, the deformation phenomenon during waveguide processing procedure is analyzed and discussed, establishing various pass technique scenario in accordance with the finite element analysis results, carrying out a lot of technique tests, and deciding the optimum technique scenario in accordance with test results. The pulling waveguide procedure and waveguide processing procedure adopt the technique measures, which effectively control the deformation and ensure the design precision requirements. The project practices demonstrate that this technique scenario is feasible and reasonable, the research achievements of this paper effectively guide the project practices.
