Research On The Pdf Watermark Copyright Protect System

In recent years, with the development of the Internet and the diversity of computer terminal, exacerbate the transformation of the traditional print media to electronic media, the offer of information that using electronic document as carrier had become a trend. Among many electronic documents, The PDF (Portable Document Format) files, designed by Adobe company, with its cross-platform ability, compact size, excellent reading experience, support for hyperlink, high-security, and so on, has became a most important electronic information carrier. Now PDF plays an important role in various industries.Unlike the traditional print media, electronic media is easier to carry, spread and reproduce. It has brought great convenience to people, but also has brought a new challenge to the copyright protection. As the old copyright monitor and management philosophy is not enough to deal with the attendant problems, it’s an urgent to create a new digital copyright protection system to tracking the electronic publications’copyright and to promote a healthy and stable development of the publishing industry.In order to solve the problems, we analysis the logic structure of PDF type files, and proposed a novel digital watermarking algorithm (DWA), which can be applied to PDF files’ Integrity&Copyright Authorization. Base on this algorithm, we designed a highly scalable PDF watermark copyright protection system, including Stand-alone Watermark Tool (SAWT), Online Add Watermark Interface (OAWI), Web Management Platform (WMP) and Watermark Datebase. This system is very flexible to combine with PDF providers’existing web site system, embedded watermark to every PDF they sales, and get Watermark statistical information, effectively cracking down on piracy behavior, protect the legitimate rights and interests of publishers.
