With the development of the high speed and large bandwidth services, such as IPTV, HDTV, high quality network games and P2P video applications, our country’s users’requirement for bandwidth are growing rapidly. In the next few years, the bandwidth and speed of each user’s demand will reach50-100Mbit/s. At present, whether it is EPON or GPON, the uplink and downlink bandwidth is only1.25Gbit/s or2.5Gbit/s, which will not be able to meet the users’demand in the future obviously. Therefore, IEEE organization passed the international standard of10G EPON--820.3av in September,2009. The study and implementation of the10G EPON system become a hot research content all around the world.With the expanding of the network’s bandwidth, there are more and more new network services which are emerging and developing rapidly. As we all know, P2P application which is one of the most popular internet services, has been developing extremely rapidly in the recent years. According to the statistics, P2P application has occupied about50%-90%bandwidth of the core network, which has made it very hard to carry the P2P efficiently and which has brought great operation pressure for the ISP. Therefore, the study on how to carry P2P efficiently in the network is becoming a very important problem now and in the future.Aiming at the bandwidth’s rapidly developing of the access network and the problem of the carrying strategy of the P2P, this paper research on the P2P carrying strategy of the PON and the design and implementation of the large-scale multi-board10G EPON OLT system. Taking the achievements on the EPON system our laboratory has acquired into account, this paper’s research is based on some of these achievements. The main contributions of this paper are as follows.First, we analyzed the private P2P protocol of the PPStream video on demand service through capturing the interactive packets of the PPStream in this paper, and proposed a P2P redirection strategy on how to carry the PPStream service effectively.Second, this paper proposed a scheme which optimized and improved the P2P redirection strategy which can make the BT redirection much efficient。Third, the design of the multi-board10G EPON OLT system embedded software has been proposed in this paper, including system operating requirements, functional requirements of the device, division of the system software and the functional description. This paper focused on the implementation scheme of the P2P redirection software and finished the coding of the P2P redirection software on the10G EPON OLT system.Forth, the simulation test scheme of the10G EPON system which can carry P2P effectively was given and implementated in this paper. According to the simulation test, the P2P carring strategy this paper proposed can effectively reduce the stress of the P2P on the core network.
