The deployable reflectarray antennas have become a noticed focus,because of proper advantage and wide application.The antenna has some characteristics as low-profile,light weight,foldable,and can be integrated designed with microstrip circuit. Firstly,the methods for analysis and design have been summarized after the principle introducing.A analysis for topics of broadening bandwidth and dual-band/multiband elements design have been discussed.The large deployable reflectarray antenna makes up of two layers of thin-membrane.Dual-band reflect elements are printed on the top layer.And the common metal ground plane is printed on the bottom layer.Numerical simulation is used to synthetic optimize dual-band element. In order to reduce optical path difference and broadend bandwidth of the system.,beam pointing can be controled to match the reflectarray aperture.At the same time,multibeam feed horn can be used to carry out multi beams and satisfy the requirement of Radar coverage area.It’s difficulty to design and manufacture large deployable reflectarray antenna.Two microstrip reflectarrays are designed for experiment.And then,one dual-band reflectarray antenna composed by two layers of thin-membrane is designed and produced.The antenna aperture is about3m×3m and can work at C/Ku band.Mechanical analysis is used to design the catenary system of membrance.The deployable system is researching in other project.The reflectarray antennas have been measured by planar near-field system.Measured results show that the methods uesd to analysis and design large deployable reflectarray antenna are available.
