Performance management plays a critical role in personnel resource administration,and it is, therefore, a focal point that has been highlighted in the reform of humanresource management at the tertiary level. Having not fully realized its value,performance management system has not been broadly applied in higher institutions.Consequently, when it comes to human resource management affairs, they are stillproceeded manually in most universities.With a fast advancement in human resource management in higher institutions, onthe one hand, it has seen a gradual transformation from the traditional managementpattern that foregrounds the management of personal profile, attendance and contractinto a new model that comprises strategic planning, post analysis, intellectualassessment, performance evaluation and compensation incentive system. This willinevitably intrigue a wealth of inquiries into the research of management system. On theother hand, the fast growing IT technology has provided a means by which1) thehuman resource management work could be handled via a computer, and2) its highefficiency and convenience is ascertained as well.This paper is in a small attempt to study the performance management system. Itdescribes how an integrated model of performance management systemplatform(IMPMS) comes into being. Based on the framework of Cairngorm, Struts,Spring, AJAX, iBATIS and Flash, the IMPMS system is contextually designed for thegood of Xi’an University of Arts and Science. After its successful application, theIMPMS system has been proved to be highly efficacious and conducive to decisionmakers.
