This article researches basic theory and basic technology of the Moodle throughmeticulous investigation of Moodle history, present situation and developing trend. Thisarticle puts forward a vocational education market demand and function relativelycomplete Moodle network teaching platform system model based on B/S architecture,which is achieved by using database technology, the server configuration technology,JAVA, PHP scripting language, XML extensible markup language technology and CSSstyle sheets.This system fundamentally realized the data access layer (DAL), business logic layer(BLL) and user interface layer (UI) based on Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHPconstruction. These three layers are separation B/S structure.This system uses the object-oriented design method and modular design thought.This article designs this system’s application function and operation process from thescholars and learners’ perspective, which makes the system more practical andmaneuverable. Modular design make the system has good flexibility and expansibility. Itcan develop and integrate system functions according to your need. This system is notonly suitable for the traditional course teaching auxiliary but also suitable for completeonline course teaching.This system highlighted the advanced idea and advanced function of teacher’sknowledge management and the students’ autonomous learning and collaborative learning.This system can organize and manage all kinds of teaching materials on the networkteaching platform. The students can arrange their own study time, choose activities, finishtheir study and achieve their study goals according to their own situations. Students canpromote learning common development through evaluation, group activity andcooperation. This system can track students’ study process, monitor and feedback studyeffects.With the development of information technology and distance education, auxiliaryteaching based on the information and network technology can better improve thestudents’ learning ability, expand the learning capacity, and increase the communicationbetween teachers and students. Significant advantages for development of networkeducation based on Moodle network teaching platform have great significances fordeveloping of network education, perfecting higher education way and method, making full use of teaching resources, and improving the level of higher school.
