Archaeological line drawing is the indispensable data record work in the process of archaeological excavation, but manual measurement is most used today. Using a computer to assist in drawing archaeological lines can both improve the speed of drawing and promote the accuracy.What’s more, to a great extent it can reduce the workers’pressure, who are working for producing the archaeological line. This thesis commences a study for the key issues of computer-assisted archaeological line drawing and implements the archaeological line drawing system. Research progress as follows:(1) Proposed the Contour Line Extraction method based on non-photorealistic rendering method-difference of Gaussian filtering method based on edge tangential flow, which can solve the more traditional edge detection algorithm to extract the results of the noise and discontinuous lines. The experimental results proved that we have to maximum extent extracted a smoother, continuous line which relatively has less noise.(2) Using denoising and enhancement algorithm based on the median filter and top-hat combined with bottom-hat transform to solve the problem destroying the lines using the traditional methods denoising. The results shows that the premise of which can effectively protect the edge of the removed part of the noise contrast effect and reinforcing wire FIG.(3) Using the vectorization method line graph lines based on the tracking lines, the denoising and enhancement of the contrast effect of the archaeological line diagram for vectorization operation can be effectively extracted vector lines of the line map.(4) To apply the measurement methods based on the three-dimensional model of the measurements and proportions of the line graph calibration. At the same time, we have studied relics measurement methods based on image and3-D models. Finally we produce the archaeological drawing with the aid of measured data.(5) We have realized a system for producing archaeological line drawing with the combination of our study with practical application. This system has been applied to the third excavation of the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses’relics digitization management system which works well.
