With the development of automotive electronics and embedded technologies, auto meter is gradually to the digitization, network, and intelligent direction. Currently, CAN bus because of its low cost, high reliability and real-time characteristics becomes one of the most important buses applied to the body systems.And the high-level protocol based on CAN bus CANopen with high reliability and configurability become the preferred standard for next-generation automotive-Electric Vehicle Network. Purpose of this research topic is to design a digital car instrument supports the canopen protocol.First of all, this article provides a brief description of the development of automotive networks, for CAN bus and its upper layer protocols are described, combined with the history of the instrument for the next generation of Instrument Development.Second, the combination of traditional instruments functional requirements, this article gives the overall instrument system design supports the canopen protocol. The system will select the ARM chip S3C2440A as the main controller for the system hardware and software design, and select open source protocol to stack Canfestival to support CANopen communication.Then carried out a detailed study of the CANopen protocol content, including NMT, SDO, PDO, and special features objects.Then, depending on the instrument hardware overall scheme of the system, selection and complete the controller chip peripheral interface circuit design, including can-bus, communication module, LCD/touch screen, storage module, and debugging interface module.Finally, build a system based on the design of the hardware platform, software development environment, implement the transplant system boot, transplant driver for the design of the Linux kernel and the modules, describe the canopen protocol canfestival open source code for the transplant, and give the instrument interface design.
