In order to solve problems such as low test efficient and man-made factors impacting on fault diagnosis result during batch production and technical support of an automatic leveling system for a vehicle-mounted radar, research on intelligent instrument for the automatic leveling system is conducted. On the basis of intelligent instrument and expert system theory, and combining with experience in practical engineering, general scheme and software and hardware of the intelligent instrument for the leveling system are designed. General design of the intelligent instrument is based on embedded framework of PC104. The hardware is based on embedded SoC module Em104-i4231of processor PC/104×86, it is mainly composed of DC regulated power supply, signal adjustment unit and computer unit, functions of the hardware include multi-channel data acquisition and multi-channel analogue signal and switching signal generation. In design of the software, software application platform of the intelligent instrument is developed on embedded Linux system; a knowledge-based intelligent fault diagnosis expert system is constructed by using of a special development tools CLIPS; and friendly man-machine interface for the intelligent instrument is designed with MiniGUI3.0. Through software debugging, hardware calibration and system adjustment, the intelligent instrument is capable of providing test to six component units of the automatic leveling system and providing fault diagnosis to the leveling system and its six component units.Functions mentioned above are verified in practical test, and the intelligent instrument has been successfully used in manufacturing of the automatic leveling system of the vehicle-mounted radar.
