Tactical Information Network is intended to offer command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance(C4ISR) requirements for users from Division to Company levels, whichprovides mobile seamless, survivable, multimedia and securecommunication. For Tactical Information Network built on an IPhost-model, the movements of mobile nodes may cause the change ofnetwork topology, which leads to the outages of network and linkintermittencies.Named Data Network (NDN) is the network architecture of nextgeneration, which has evolved to be dominated by content distribution andretrieval, while IP based network technology still speaks only ofconnections between hosts. NDN forwards by data name and works well inan infrastructure-less network, which is better applied to TacticalInformation Network.NDN requires that all contents are identified by a unique name, first weshould assign a unique name for each piece of data. In order to receive dataover NDN, the receiver needs to get the content name and then acquire thecontent using the name in an interest message. The last thing that needs to beconsidered is security. By analyzing the model of Named Data Networkingfor Tactical Information Network, we propose a novel solution for nameconvention, peer-to-peer communication and system security.
