Regional Differences Research Of Public Emergency Based On Internet Public Opinion In China

China is now going through the important transformation period ofpolitical, economy and cultural, and also going through the high-incidenceseason of public emergencies. Public emergencies reflect society’sprincipal contradiction and regional issues which are more concerned bylocal people, that is to say, they reflect local public opinion status. Withinternet public opinion propagation is becoming more convenient and fast,and with the conscious of the self-protection rights is becoming stronger inpublic, the amount of public emergencies keep rising and become morecomplicated these years. Social contradiction caused by benefits conflict isaggravating, and the damage caused by public emergency is rising quicklyin the meantime. More and more public emergencies are concerned, andcome with furious public opinion. These not just lead to financial loss, andalso risk the social harmony and stability.China has vast territory and abundant resources, but with imbalancegrowth status between different province and area. However, there arenothing research about regional differences of public emergencies based oninternet public opinion in the past, especially lack quantitative analysis ofpublic emergencies. As the writer of this paper, I will correlate the hotinternet public emergencies and regional features, with the analysis toolboth of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, to try hard to makeinnovation in the public emergency research area.Public emergency concept and other theories will be list at first. ThenI will find the research method which is applicative in this research. After that，I will conclude China public emergencies distribution basis495casesof public emergencies between2007and2011based on internet publicopinion. Higher measurement method will be used at last, to explore therelationship between public emergencies and regional features, especiallythe impact of internet and economic.The study found that internet and economic development status ofprovince are correlative with the amount and types of public emergenciesbased on internet public opinion. As the internet using person rise,province’s risk of internet-based public emergencies will be rise. If thesecondary industry index is low, then the province’s risk of internet-basedpublic emergencies will be also rise. Meanwhile, as the tertiary industryindex growth, the province will more frequently break out internet-basedpublic emergency cases, especially public health cases, because of thecitizen conscious of self-protection rights are rising.
