This thesis primarily focuses on the project of the “Chengdu East IntelligentRailway Station Management Software System", which is to design a managementsystem--built upon technologies such as Electronic Information integrationtechnology and automated data analysis–to meet the needs for supporting trainstation operation and energy conservation management. To the end of achievingenergy conservation, The System makes possible for real time monitoring the status ofall controlling devices throughout the entire passenger train station, therefore allowingthe maintenance and management personnel to have detailed and comprehensiveinformation of the equipment operations and all concurrent events at the station. Inaddition, this system lays ground for establishing reliable records and documentationsthat can be used by these personnel in decision making. To the end of supporting trainstation operation, The System utilizes Industrial Bus technologies, such as Modbusand OPC, and automation control standard interface to enable optimized automationcontrol of equipment at the station. The designing and implementation of the “Chengdu East Intelligent RailwayStation Management Software System” software system are discussed here as a centerpiece of this thesis. This system, which is built on the technical designs of “j2EE” andthe technical architecture of OSGI (Open Service Gateway Initiative), is designedwith the goals of providing the support frameworks for train station operation andenergy conservation management with intended characteristics of being easy toexpend, upgrade and transplant while being highly reliable in practice. Aiming tomeet the needs of the routine service tasks within train station operations, this thesisbegins with establishing the software design of the comprehensive scaffold, intowhich a range of practical operation modules are incorporated while the demands areanalyzed and detailed matching solutions are described. These systems include: themodular data-acquisition service, management logical processing, data display, andhandheld data logging. Furthermore, it is illustrated here that this modulardevelopment methodology can be achieved through utilizing OSGI technology basedon the designing concept of SOA (Service-Orientated Architecture). Finally, throughsystemic interrogations, the System is tested and evaluated on its comprehensivefunctionality and performance for compliance with industry quality standards. Inconclusion, the current system is compared to the conventional service system of trainstation to demonstrate its technical innovation significance.
