RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is an Auto identification technology thatbased on the space coupling (contained inductive coupling and backscatter coupling) principle ofradio-frequency signal. It has the advantages of non-contact communicating, large data volume,excellent data security and strong anti interference capability, etc. With the development of theInternet of Things,RFID technology has been further developed, especially the UHF RFIDtechnology based on the ISO18000-6C protocol. It has been studied and researched widely for itshigh reading speed, long reading distance and good anti-collision performance.RFID system comprises electronic tag, reader and upper computer system, in which thereader is the core component of the system. This paper puts forward a single-chip readerfunctional circuit design scheme based on ISO18000-6C protocol.First, this paper make analysis and simulation to the reader RF transceiver Then, it presentsthree different RF circuit design schemes, including the discrete components scheme, the commonRF chip scheme and the special RFID chip scheme. By comparing the three schemes, it finallytakes use of the special RFID chip design scheme, and selects the AS3992chip as the core chip ofRF transceiver circuit. After that, it finishes the reader RF module of the whole program bydesigning peripheral circuit based on the AS3992chip, such as external power amplifier, voltagecontrolled oscillator (VCO), circulator, BALUN transformer, TXCO and voltage regulator. At last,it draws the PCB board diagram by Protel and processes it into a real UHF board.
