Underwater sensor networks(UWSN) is an important part of thethree-dimensional underwater environment monitoring system, which consists of alarge number of sensor nodes with computing and communication capability, eachnode, carraying out continuous collaborative monitoring tasks, is located in thedesignated area. Continuous real-time monitoring of oceanographic information isof great significance as the world’s pace acceleration in ocean development andutilization.Underwater sensor network nodes are the basis of constituting underwatersensor networks, the basic unit of carrying the information perception, dataprocessing and network functions, there is of practical significance when allprotocols, mechanisms, algorithms related to underwater sensor networks can beachieved and optimized in the nodes. In this paper, the design of underwater sensornetwork nodes provides a more ideal hardware platform for the research andvalidation of underwater sensor networks’ performance. In this paper, the main content as follows:(1) This paper proposed a design of underwater sensor networks node. UsingAtmega128microprocessor as a core unit to design hardware, with disruptive orquery method to collect the underwater sensor output signal; Using acoustictransducer and the acoustic modem to achieve communication among nodes,battery-powered.The test results show that the design of underwater sensornetworks node has better information collection, processing and communicationperformance.(2)This paper studied and implemented a basic MAC protocol.achieved acompetition-based MAC Protocol for CSMA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access) formulti-node communication channel access, and laid the foundation for theunderwater sensor network data aggregation studies.
