Research And Implementation Of Ratings Survey System Based On Bidirectional Set-Top Box

With the deepening development in business mining of the digital TV operating, to improve service quality and work out a plan of the business development direction, it is more and more urgent to investigate and analyze the digital TV user’s viewing behavior. This dissertation aims to do the research of a ratings survey technology and system which can do collection, statistics and analysis of the users’ rating data by the completed bidirectional transformation broadcasting network.By analyzing the exiting ratings survey method and the status of the broadcasting digital TV operating, we provided a technique program which can collect and analyze the ratings data in real time, and designed a real-time ratings data collecting system using the bidirectional set top box, and introduced all sorts of algorithm about the rating data calculation, and designed the customer templates statistically analysis method, finally implemented a rating survey system based upon the bidirectional set top box.This system has been come into use in Henan Cable TV Network Holdings Limited(hereinafter Henan Cable), which provides data support for Henan Cable to carry out and develop new business based on user’s rating data, and it is proved that this system as a non-sampling rating survey tool is effective and available. The relevant technology and interface models have been listed in bidirectional working standards of Henan Cable.
