Eggs food is the main food of daily life, our country is the world’s egg production and consumption country, with the improved quality of life of our people, a higher demand for eggs food quality, but also created the eggs quality testing technology continues to evolve. Chinese residents have the habit of eating preserved eggs, and in the production process of preserved eggs, the first duck to do damage detection, and then cleaning the production, we should first do damage detection, then cleaning and the production. Affected by the duck surface blemishes, the traditional testing equipment is not able to correctly identify cracks and blemishes. The vast majority of preserved egg production enterprises still used the manual inspection method in our country. We should develop a equipment to detect eggshell breakage that suitable for China’s national conditions, to improve the sorting efficiency. This has become a pressing problem of poultry and preserved egg industry in China in the future.Against the operational requirements for the duck damage detection, we worked out a PC-based machine vision processing system. System uses a red LED as a light source, the choice of the way of background light irradiation to obtain a single static duck image by the CCD camera in a closed environment. The design of software using the adaptive threshold, unsharp masking, binarization denoising, morphological processing means to achieve the image of the crack detection. Finally, the system based on the mathematical characteristics of the image to remove the confounding factors, and accurately locate cracks. The developed image processing software can accurately distinguish between the background and duck eggs, and the distinction between good duck surface cracks and blemishes. The system had92.5%accuracy on duck eggs, which would correctly identify185of the200duck eggs images in the sample, which meet the requirements of the assay.
