With the rapid development of computer graphics techniques, people combine it withthe military exercise. People present a new platform of virtual military exercise-virtualbattlefield. Virtual battlefield bases on simulation technology and virtual realitytechnology. It has features of high-simulation and high efficiency, which can let thetraining be both quality and safety. The real-time changes and special effects of Virtualbattlefield directly influence the judgment and decision of people. Among the rest, thefire simulation in virtual battlefield occupies very important position. The real-time firesimulation has been the focus of graphics. Virtual battlefield requires not only the realitybut also the real-time performance. Virtual battlefield requires not only the reality butalso the real-time performance. How to simulate it simply and efficiently becomes theimportant factors of virtual battlefield.With the above problems in mind, this thesis summarizes fire simulation methodsand present a new method of fire simulation based on particle system, which based onthe demand of virtual battlefield. Its goal is the real-time performance and reality.Main content is:This thesis first analyzes the particle system theory, based on which we analyzethe factors of using particle system to simulate fire. According to thermodynamictheory, we analyses the physical and chemical characteristics burning fire and use theexternal force field to simplify the fire simulation model. We simulate dynamicmovement process. In order to improve the authenticity and real-time performance, Inorder to achieve authenticity and real-time fire modeling, This thesis improve themethod of fire modeling.We analysis fire shape and set, the position of the particleusing a special distribution.This thesis uses dynamic texture mapping and theincremental changes of the size and color. In the fire simulation system, this thesisanalyses the framework structure of the particle system and design a more accountablesystem.At the end of this thesis, a fire simulation result was shown in static and dynamicenvironment. This thesis analyses the result from both real time performance and authenticity.The experimental results show that this method can simulate fire from realtime performance and authenticity on the virtual battlefield,which can render speedyand produce realistic simulation results.It meets the requirements of the virtualbattlefield of flame simulation and improves the dynamic authenticity of the virtualbattlefield.
