A real3D ore body generation technique is presented in this research which aimed at thedigital management of geologic resources and real3D design of underground works. The mainstudies include:Based on the nearest neighbour method and distance power inverse ratio method, animproved nearest neighbour method is proposed in consideration of the irregular distribution ofthe drill hole. Then in view of the concentrating distribution along the depth direction of thesample, an interpolation by layer tactic is adopted to obtain dense three dimensional scatterpoints as the data source of ore body generation by D-TEN. The comparison of interpolationresults by these three methods shows that the improved method is more rationality than the twoothers. In view of the massive and dynamic features of the data in mine, the incremental insertionmethod which is used in generates D-TEN dynamically is improved. The improvements includetwo aspects, the first is to optimize the key step which is the position of the points for insertion inD-TEN generation by employ octree index and direction search method to increase timeefficiency, and the second is to improve the initial and new tetrahedron network generationprocess by the means of points insertion from both interior and exterior of the convex hull. Theexperiment shows that the position method can not only locate the points rapidly but also makesthe efficiency independent of the points amount; it also shows that insert points from the exteriorof the convex hull makes the points insertion process more flexibility. At the end of this research, an iron mine is taken as an example to show the real3D modelconstruction technology of ore body by the improved D-TEN generation algorithm. Theexperiment result shows that this method can realize the rapidly generation of the ore body real3D model, and can meet the modelling requirement of mass mine data.
