With the development of society and technology, the home service robots graduallycome into people’s families, and slowly show them powerful role. For home service robots,the two most important abilities to realize intelligent are the ability of localization andmapping in unknown environments and the ability of emotional recognition andexpression.Also many scholars are devoted to the two abilities.Normally, when the home service robot enters an unknown environment, first it shouldbe familiar with the environment, this is involved the ability of robot localization andmapping. And then the home service robot achieves its service capacity via emotionalcommunication, The robots get the emotion information through the human physiologicalsigns, voice and expression, and then execute the command, for example, completing the taskusing the map that build before, sequentially come to servicing people. So to the home servicerobots, the abilities of localization and mapping and emotional recognition and expressioncontact each other, supplement each other.This topic research is focused on making the home service robot to simulate the situationof the people arriving a new environment, when the people arrive a new environment, they arefull of surprise to the surrounding environment, first they go around in the environment, in theprocess of going around, if there is a blind alley, the people show an expression of disgust,when they are more familiar with the environment, the people become more and more happy,and the emotion of surprise reduce gradually, in the process, they have a generalunderstanding to the layout of the environment. This topic is carried out around the aboveideas, puts the emotional expression to the process of map building, increases the friendliness,lay the foundation for the more rich and colorful robot application.First the research is the automatic mapping in unknown environment for home servicerobot, this paper puts forward an automatic mapping algorithm, a method to affirm theunknown area, and the anti-interference strategies, finally quote the theme of artificialpotential field to path planning, by successively scanning, the robot can confirm the unknownareas, in order to building the complete map of closed unknown environment. This study isbased on laboratory research-the research of improved RBPF SLAM. Through the simulationexperiment, the robot can create complete map automatically.And then research on the emotional expression of home service robot, This paperimprove the existing evaluation function of simulated annealing algorithm to get the moreeffective and authentic expression, it overcome the defects that realizing only one emotional expression, realizing complex emotional expression. Through studying some pictures andphotos, draw the expression of each part of face using the specialized software, increase theauthenticity and interesting. This module is universal, it can serve as an interface used indifferent robots in different situation to the complex emotional expression.
