| After analyzing the shortcomings of existing library management softwares and making an in-depth exploration, the paper develops the auxiliary guided reading system for secondary schools. By making use of the IntraWeb technique in the Delphi and SQL Server database combine together, the system adopts Delphi integrated development environment to carry on Web application procedure development.The development of the system is designed to help the secondary readers quickly find the desired books and save time. Taking into account the existing library management system has been very good, therefore, the system develops only to provide services to query for secondary readers based on the existing library management system, not involving books out of storage and other aspects of library management.Currently, there are several management systems faced to reader service on the market, such as 《the guided reading based on the Shanghai Jiao Tong University library》 used in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, it is to use the multimedia guided reading system to carry on recommend the certain books for the public readers, and does not really achieve the targeted guided reading for individual reader.The students are classified through the students reading habits and psychological analysis in the paper. According to different types of student characteristics, laying out the different guided methods, the paper not only considers student’s own needs, but also helps them develop good reading habits to avoid deviating from the correct learning orientation. The system creates a personal file for each student reader, and strives to achieve the targeted guided reading.The system consists of five modules:registration login module, book query module, the public guided reading module, individual guided reading module and administrator module.
