Newspaper form, as the most intuitional and visible external manifestation of newspaper, has been constantly changing and evolving from the date of birth.In the new media environment, media convergence accelerates the development of newspaper form. The traditional newspaper continues to evolve its form within the framework of paper and ink. Meanwhile, the new media form of newspaper overturns the tradition in the new environment within the framework of optics and electricity, and presents a entirely new appearance.The newspaper form, as a whole object of study, has its change rules. It changes driven by social, political, economic and cultural change. The specific changes include format change, the modular design, magazine-trend, three dimensional visual effect, for mobile, for iPad, for web online, issue frequency change, etc. The purpose of the change is designed to cater to the people’s reading habits and win back market. In the process of change, the traditional form of newspaper and new media forms have their own advantages and weaknesses. The gain and loss of the form changes of Changsha Evening Newspaper, the advantages and disadvantages by comparing with another newspaper in same city, and according to audience survey, every evidence shows that the newspaper in variety of innovative forms in practice both has the trendy side and formalized tendency leading to positioning wrong. In the new media environment, with the rapid development in technology, newspaper form need to change stably. Newspaper should play the advantages of existing form, identify the position, care for target audience, and develope user-friendly and interactive features fully, to achieve the best effect of communicating.
