This paper based on a reserch project which comes from the scientific andtechnical personnel of the Ministry of Science and Technology service enterprises item.With the rapid development of the computer technology and data compressiontechnology, the sesor includes not only analog sensors, but also digital sensors with avariety of bus interfaces. For the video signals contain a wealth of information, the datacollection instrument will not only need to collect a variety of sensor signals, but alsothe audio and video signals are needed. The multi-functional, integration, networkinghas become one of the main direction of development for data acquisition equipment.As the traditional data acquisition products have a limited data processing capabilityand storage space, it is difficult for long time storage and real-time network transmitthe video information. This article focus on this difficult, design a multi-interface dataacquisition terminal which can collect multiple types of data.First, the article describes the embedded Data collection instrument and videomonitoring technology trends and research status at home and abroad. According to thedesign needs, select the processor and operating system suitable for this design.Sencond, this paper describes the design of the schematic and PCB of themulti-interface data collect terminal (the following referred to as MDCT), get theMDCT board. Then, design the software of the MDCT, and design or transplant theAD7689and other device’s driver. For saving the data storage space and transmissionbandwidth, MDCT use MAS3587chips to collect audio signal and give a MP3formatcompress, using S3C6410internal MFC module give the video signal of the H.264hardware compression. The paper introduce the video capture method, combined thebackground subtraction method and the three frame subtraction method, design of avideo capture algorithm which suitable for embedded applications. So that the MDCTequipment only storage and transmit the meaningful video data, basically eliminatingthe waste of storage and transmit the meaningless video data. This design further savesthe data storage space and transmission bandwidth. It let the long time audio and video Monitor becomes a reality in the embedded products which have a limited storagecapacity and data processing capability.Finally, this paper use RVDS debugging software and software testing proceduresmake the MDCT equipment hardware and software test, verify the correctness of thedesign.
