Today`s society is the ear of information, the network became main way to getinformation and it has been an indispensable part of our life. Now they want to getinformation in anytime and anywhere, so the traditional wired LAN has beendissatisfactory to people`s need. With emergence of wireless local area network, thepeople`s desires realize. Owing to WLAN flexibility and mobility, easy to expand, wehave more convenient to get information. But it is not perfect and flawless, because ofLAN`s access without physical connection the attackers is easy into it and destroy it. Sothe security problem of WLAN is always puzzling its development and its securityproblem is getting more and more attention. In the thesis First understanding WLAN security standard`s development, andupon detailed theoretical analyzing to its. Secondly, through above analysis this thesisdiscover their security vulnerabilities and security threats, and introduces currentlysome method of attack, and it find that these attacks is feasible in a real environment byexperiments. Finally, it emphatically introduce security shortcomings of IEEE802.11iprotocol: On the hand, analyzing the encryption algorithm of TKIP flaw and it`ssecurity has been improved to a certain extent through improving algorithm andanalyzing improved plan`s security performance by formal analysis; On other hand, theprotocol of IEEE802.11i can lead to DOS attack, and analyses the current improvedprograms and its shortcomings, discussed IEEE802.11i protocol`s failure recoverystrategy, the strategy don`t attention to its availability in environment which lead toDOS defect. So, the thesis proposes a new improved plan based on the failure recoverystrategy, it effectively reduce DOS attacks. Through the improvement of above twomethods the security of IEEE802.11i protocol further improve and enhance the abilityof WLAN to protect against cyber attacks.
