Now, the highest speed of the carriage of computerized flat knitting machine has reached1.6m/s, and forming weaving of knitting machine is gradually perfect. A high-speedcommunication is required. Because of technical limitations in CAN bus,it is unsuitable for highspeed communication. Therefore, this paper presents a FPGA-based implementation scheme ofhigh speed serial bus for control system of computerized flat knitting machine, focusing onsolving real-time, high-speed and reliability of the design requirement. This paper mainlycompletes front end design for high speed serial bus controller.This paper studies and analyzes relevant contents such as serial bus trend and thecharacteristics of several typical serial bus, proposed the high speed serial bus architecture anddesign specifications according the specific request of flat knitting machine. The high speedserial bus physical layer protocol was designed detailed, including bit timing, synchronizationand coding scheme. Meanwhile, designed the protocol of data link layer, ensured the high speedand real-time in communication. A top-down design method is adopted in this paper. The entirecontroller is mainly divided into several modules: register module, bit timing logic module, bitstreaming processor module, CRC check module, acceptance filter module, FIFO module. AlteraQuartus Ⅱis used in the whole development process. RTL mentioned in above modules aredescribed by Verilog HDL and synthesized by Synplify Pro. Finally, post-route simulation andverification to several important modules is made in ModelSim by designing Testbench.The simulation results prove that the high speed serial bus communication way of in whichthis thesis is feasible. The modules designed by this paper achieve the intended functionalrequirements. Therefore, it has very good reference for design of high speed communication incomputerized flat knitting machine based on FPGA.
