An Applied Research About RTSP Protocol Based On IPTV System

This paper mainly focuses on the application of RTSP protocol. The RTSP protocol, which is also called real time streaming protocol, is a application level protocol that controls the real time streaming.RTSP controls the transmission of streaming media data and mainly applies in IPTV (Internet Protocol Television). The implementation of IPTV as follows, first IPTV media server provides multimedia data and through the coding of audio and video processing. In the control of real time transmission protocol, the processed data will be transmitted to the IPTV termina equipment real time and normal playback at last. The implementation of IPTV system function mainly relies on the real time transmission protocol in session between the client and the serve. Therefore, the RTSP protocol plays an extremely important role in IPTV system. the technology that IPTV system and RTSP protocol apply include network technology, distributed IPTV terminal technology, streaming media technology and RTSP transmission technology and so on. This paper focuses on the presentation of RTSP protocol, in the application part of IPTV system, focuses on how the IPTV client through RTSP protocol and stream media server for streaming media interactive session, and the data’s transmission process. This system client (STB set-top box) player relies on the open source VLC and operates with the help of the Linux system. The author presents the experimental results and data in this paper to support the points.
