Considering to the singleness and insufficient of the current industrial automation control system function, including the trouble caused by different Interface standards of automation equipments, the technology of object linking and embedding for process control (OPC) is analyzed deeply, meanwhile the architecture of automation integrated system, which is designed based on OPC communication technology, is studied in this paper. Connecting with the construction practice, an operational training and control integrated system of the cement producing is designed based on OPC communication technology. The architecture is proved to be reasonable and feasible through testing the system。 It is helpful for the application of the informationalized and intelligentized automation integrated system in practice. The research work of this paper is expanded as following:Firstly of all, starting from the background of OPC given and the designed purpose, further study is put forward to the communication principle. It is the basis and criteria to develop and implement OPC communication.Secondly, based on deeply study of OPC communication principle, a systematic study is made on the process and methods of how to develop the service and client program of OPC for its implementation, and then the process of how to establish the connection between OPC service and client is analyzed. Meanwhile, the way that the OPC client implements the processing of the data in the OPC service is discussed.Moreover, the key issues which need to be resolved in the process of integrating the industrial automation system is discussed from the view of control systems integration. The superiority of OPC communication in the application of integrating the control system is summarized from the COM assembly attribute of the OPC communication. The method of developing integrated modules with MATLAB, which is a perfect development platform for control system, based on OPC communication is studied.Finally, the operational training and control integrated system of the cement producing based on OPC communication, which is developed for the construction practice, is installed and tested in the cement producing industry scene. The operation conditions of the system are stable, reliable and excellent. So the architecture of automation integrated system designed with OPC communication is proved to be feasible and reasonable. An efficient route of developing a large scale informationalized and intelligentized automation integrated system is supplied.
