Design And Realization Of Educational Administration Assistance System In Distance Education

Distance education in educational administration is different from ordinary colleges and universities. Distance education is more focused on the application of information technology, also emphasized that on educational management. In other word, the application of Educational Administration System(EAS). The EAS is the core system for educational administration which provided technical support for the academic. So the function of EAS largely determines the quality of work carried out. But any EAS is not perfect, affected by various environmental constraints, the EAS often can’t meet the work requirements. That is why the Educational Administration Office, Beijing Open University (BJOU), had set up a research group to study on how to improve the EAS by suitable information technology. And according to research results, we had made a project reporting for the development of the Educational Administration Assistance System (EAAS) to meet the needs of our work.The research work starting from the collection and collation of usage of EAS in the colleges and universities who engaged in distance education. By comparing these educational EAS research and analysis, we found that the EAS have problems and deficiencies. To solve these problems, we had discussed and made same measures. The article introduced the EAS s which used in Educational Administration Office of BJOU, pointed out the problems and causes of the problem by had analyzed the application process, proposed development in the program of the assistance system of educational administration. For further, the article described the design of general framework and several features. We made a number of subsystems of the overall idea and a brief description of each sub-system, and then analyzed general business process. The Course Information Query System (CIQS) is a part of EAAS, also is the foundational sub-system. For example, the article introduced the CIQS’s proceed of requirement analysis, design and implement. Also list the technology used in CIQS, and the features of CIQS such as auto-save history version, user automatic related etc.The article also showed design ideas in the six import functions of CIQS, and described the process of quick development of CIQS with Ruby on Rails through the examples of course modules.
