With the development of the data and 3G service, the application of the high rate digital transmission and dense wavelength division multiplexing is more and more broad. so many information services need to concentrated the information to the less node or the line. How to better protect the safety of transmission lines is very important to the current building of optical communication networks. Currently, in many optical network protection mode, OLP gains broad application in rates high-speed brightness transmission net, with some characteristics as short switching time, a fast response, optics maintaining after power down, the transmission of data transparency and and so on, and it have attracted the academic and IT industry attention.According to the application requirements of the Inner Mongolia Unicom trunk transmission backbone business, This essay take a thorough study and analysis to optical line protection system, and designed a program for the actual system, achieved application.of the optical line protection technology in the transmission network.This work is as follows:1. This essay take a thorough study and analysis to optical line protection system principles, techniques, and test analysis;2. This paper made the overall design framework for the optical line protection system, and according to the effect building a full system program;3. This paper appled the optical line protection schemes in Inner Mongolia Unicom trunk transmission backbone network in the business, and achieving good results.
