China at present is rising. It has already made its way to the center of the world from the edge of stage. China’s status has changed, however, it is unavoidable that the "strong West, weak East" situation still exists with regard to current international discourse power. In order to improve the international communication ability of China, it is necessary to integrate forces of all sides, form a "media united front" of external communication, especially for overseas private commercial media which enjoys the geographical proximity, similar popularity, and the unofficial flexible system. They can play a positive role in describing China in an accurate, objective and comprehensive way, and balancing the news monopoly of western media. Among numerous overseas Chinese medias, the premiere of Arab·Asia Business TV is especially notable. It is world’s first foreign private satellite television station controlled by the Chinese. Moreover, it is previously the only non-stop TV channel in Middle East which uses Arabic and English to transfer Chinese economic news and Chinese culture. This paper attempts to analyze the basic situation of Asia Business TV, its unique advantages in cross-cultural communication, and the success or failure, gain or loss of its five-year Middle East practice. Then based on these aspects, draw a summary of the experience and inspiration brought from Asia Business TV as a foreign private commercial media in cross-cultural communication.
