The continuous development of Internet technology has brought us into the era ofweb2.0, the popularity of mobile phones and mobile terminals have also boosted thedevelopment of the mobile social networking (Mobile Social Network Service). The Map Island system is a social networking platform in the mobile wirelessenvironment. By employing the service of location-based searching, the systemprovides users with event information publication, discussion and searching, and alsoprovides the functionality of location-based random user matching and instantmessaging. Combining with multiple popular frontend technologies, it allows users toaccess the system with any available device, and provides great user experience. Theauthor is responsible for the overall system analysis and design, and also the designand implementation of the event module. The contributions of this thesis include:(1) The overall design objective and the core user value of the system areanalyzed, based on the market positioning of the system. The related technologies areinvestigated and comparison is given.(2) The design of the architecture, the overall design of the functionality, theinterface of the service and design of data storage are presented, according to thedemand of the system. The design and implementation of event publication, commenting and searching are also given.(3) The problem of scalability of data storage is discussed. By employing theopen-sauced software and technology, the detail strategy is given. And the detaildesign and implementation of the scalability of the event module is also described.(4) The detail design of database testing plan is presented, and the test isperformed with concrete test cases. Through the test, the feasibility of the presentedscheme is verified. Finally, a summary of the possible problems and the work need to be done in thefuture is given.
