| In the period of the Republic of China, turbulent regime and frequentwars took place, imposing enormous influence on national politics, economyand culture. National ecomomy remained stagnant, and people’s life suffered.However, this harsh circumstances contributes to the development of thoughtsof militarization of sports. Due to its core content satisfying social needs,thoughts of militarization of sports adapted to the development at that time.There is no doubt that thoughts of militarization of sports promote processesof sports at that time, improve people’s qualities, inhance army’s reserveforces, and boost army’s battle effectiveness and cohesiveness. Besides, doinga research on thoughts of militarization is of great significance to spiritualcivilization related to education of national defense and national quality in ourcountry.To specifically discuss thoughts of militarization of sports in the periodof the Republic of China, this paper mainly applies the method ofdocumentation. It aims to explore the main content and characteristics ofthoughts of militarization of sports under special social and sportscircumstances in the period of the Republic of China by describingrepresentatives of thoughts of militarization of sports and theserepresentatives’ practice to demonstrate thoughts of militarization of sports.Thoughts of militarization of sports, mainstream thoughts of sports in wars,last for the whole period of the Republic of China, guilding the then educationfor physical exercise and army construction, which have important value ofresearch. This paper focuses on theoretical basis and practive achievement ofrepresentatives of thoughts of militarization of sports, in order to make acomplete and accurate summary of essence of the thoughts. Then the paperdiscusses historical contribution and realistic significance of thoughts of militarization of sports, so that a complete thoughts of militarization of sportscould be built to make a contribution to the future wars. |
