Street Children’s Social Assistance In Social Work Intervention Research

With the deepening of reform and opening up and socialization process movingforward, the social assistance for street children aroused widespread concern. Socialassistance for street children should not only stay in the detention and repatriation level,but also provide spiritual care for street children and help them return to their families, intosociety, and promote their health. Therefore, it is important to introduce social workmechanism in the work of street children’s social assistance.Through the research literature can be found, the most studies are based on rescuemode. a small part of scholars carry out rescue experience from the standpoint of the socialsurvey research, and from the point of social work intervention for street children arefewer,especially less from the field of social work practice.In this paper, Suzhou assistance station take actions for street children, mainly fromthe micro-level, to carry out direct cases, group services to intervene in the plight of thestreet children, to help them to enhance their capabilities, and enhance self-confidence, andsmooth return to mainstream society.
