This paper mainly discusses the teaching mode which integrates information technology and high school organic chemistry teaching. This teaching mode requires full awareness of the importance of the integration of information technology and organic chemistry teaching in senior high school. It not only fully embodies the concepts of new curriculum reform but also helps to enhance students’ learning initiative and the interactivity in teaching processes. Through the study of a large number of teaching cases, we have explored two kinds of teaching modes for high school organic chemistry teaching integrated with information technology:multimedia presentation mode with teachers as the main body and interactive teaching mode based on network.Multimedia presentation mode with teachers as the main body is characterized by electronic lesson preparation and multimedia teaching with the application of computer multimedia technology. Teachers can use available computer-aided teaching software and multimedia material library and choose suitable parts to apply in their explanation. They can also make their own presentation or multimedia courseware, using the Powerpoint or other multimedia producing tools and make the most of various teaching materials. In this way they can clearly explain the structure of the class, vividly demonstrate what is hard to understand, or obviously display the dynamic process of change and theoretical model through charts, animation, etc..Interactive teaching mode based on network refers to the opening teaching mode in the multimedia network classroom with multimedia information as the transmission medium. In this mode the learning objectives are achieved with dominant human-computer interaction (refers to the human and the computer), and supplemented human-human interaction (the interaction between students and students, between students and teachers). It is an effective way adapted to students’ self-study.After a period of investigation and research, we find that the dominant position of the students and the leading role of the teachers have been strengthened since multimedia network was applied into organic chemistry learning area. And this truly embodies the concepts of the new round of curriculum reform. The integration of information technology and high school organic chemistry teaching is more than a kind of teaching method. More importantly, it brings information resources into the high school organic chemistry teaching activity, which makes reasonable and flexible use of information technology and returns more learning space to students. In this case, students are provided with visual and auditory perception, which enriches the imagination of the students and effectively cultivates students’ awareness and abilities of self-learning and active development. Finally, the students’ creative potential will be fully developed.
