Chinese literature has always been a fundamental subject in general education. Andtextbooks are the most important carriers of the classroom instruction.For the past few decades, as the reformation and development on Chinese literaturesubject, there have been new attempts and great changes from the textbooks to theeducation patterns, from the education philosophy to the examine mode. During thelast curriculum reforms, the transformation of ancient literature and culture has drawnmuch more attention.During the educational reform, and with the alternation of time, the textbooks haveexperienced lots of revising; there have been great changes in contents, with the newtrends and new concept of the reform. There has been a situation of flourish oftextbooks which change the situation of simplex textbook from Renjiao publication.This has satisfied the needs and practical status of the society, however, still there aremany factors less than satisfactory.With the globalization and the rising of national identity of China, Chinese languagehas also been welcomed worldwide unprecedentedly. More and more people begin totake interests in Chinese. At the mean time, we can discover there are still many flawsin editing and selecting of ancient poetry in various versions of textbooks. This essayfocuses on the comparative research of ancient Chinese literature of the compulsoryhigh-school text books between the “senior” Renjiao publication edition and the“junior” Sujiao publication edition. It initiates analysis of the problems in thetextbooks, locates the cause and effect and puts forward suggestions of solution,hopefully to make some contribution to the Chinese literature education.
