Under The Background Of Urban And Rural Dual Structure Migrant Workers Household Consumption Research

Consumption is a strong driving force to promote the development of the economy and the society. The household consumption of the migrant workers is a force to promote the consumption economic development of urban which can not be ignored. Their consumption situation have an important impact not only on their own, but also on the community. This article take Changxing county for example to explore the current household consumption situation of the migrant workers. According to the diet, clothing, housing, transportation, entertainment, children’s education and favor spending and other aspects, sum up the consumption characteristics of the migrant worker families. First, The overall level of consumption is relatively low, but higher than in rural. Daily consumption is deeply influeced by the rural traditional ideas, but already showing the characteristics of urban consumption. Lack of coordination of the proportion of consumer spending, survival consumption still accounts for the dominant, but the consumption of enjoyment and development has increased. This is mainly caused by the society and the migrant workers" families themselves:the low income of the family, the educational level and occupational status of the family members, the plight of the identity and association with the rural, all these are the reasons of their own; and the absence of the social security system, the limitations of the social support networks, the impact of China’s traditional culture and the weakening security function of the land are the social causes. Finally, on the basis of the status of household consumption for the migrant workers, from social systems, corporate, public and migrant workers families their own four measures, put forward the solution to the problem. Social system must speed up the reform, promote the social security system, improve laws and regulations to create a stable working and living environment; Enterprises should provide equal employment opportunities for migrant workers, improve migrant workers living and working environment, pay attention to the needs of migrant workers, and expore consumption hot spots of migrant workers; the public should play a guiding role of public opinion to dispel public misunderstanding of migrant workers; at last migrant workers should continuously develop themselves to adapt to the city life, and enhance exchanges and communication with city residents.
