| Wheelchair basketball is one of the most appreciated sports for the people with disability. As their most favorite sport, it is the embodiment of the players to overcome conquer and realize oneself. Flexible and skillful driving techniques of the athletes, as well as their lightning speed, are the inexhaustible fascination of this sport, they are also great challenges to the technology and strength of the contestants. With the competition becoming fierce day by day as well as the rapid development of the wheelchair basketball, this game is not only well known, but also becomes an official event of the world’s major para games. The10th Asian Paralympic was held in Guangzhou on December2010, there are10wheelchair basketball teams participated from Asian countries. A group of Chinese men’s wheelchair basketball team competed with four teams, respectively from Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Malaysia. After combated with the Chinese Taipei team in the semifinals, Chinese men’s wheelchair basketball team faced Japanese team in the finals. During the games, No matter of technique and tactics or spirit, China national wheelchair basketball team have made certain achievements, so people have higher expectations of this new force, but it also emerged several shortcomings and urgent problems.The object of this study is six matches of Chinese men’s wheelchair basketball team in the10th Guangzhou Asian Paralympic. We compared and analyzed Chinese and foreign men’s wheelchair basketball techniques and tactics from both offensive and defensive. Research method included literature study, video observation, investigation and interview,mathematical statistics and comparative study. In order to make this study more comprehensive and substantial, we introduced the international Wheelchair Basketball statistical methods to analyze each indicators of the wheelchair basketball game.According to the results, the main reason why Chinese Team was failure included,(1) Chinese team had low shots, penalty and offence rebounds, scored less in restricted zone, made more mistakes.(2) The Chinese team lacked experience of the competition with top foreign teams; the athletes were a little diffident when faced pressure defense and collaborated in the team as a whole not very well under high-intensity combat.(3) Domestic wheelchair coaches overall professional level was not very high. Given problems mentioned above, we propose the corresponding recommendations for the Chinese men’s wheelchair basketball team as follows.1.Optimize training methods. It is necessary to strengthen the Physical Fitness Training and to learn from advanced psychological training methods of foreign wheelchair basketball teams, Special physical quality training was called to be combined with the physical condition of players according to the feature of wheelchair basketball.2.Improve skills of players to control the wheelchair. The athletes were required special training of athletes to control the wheelchair in usual training and to take great emphasis on human chair integration.3.Emphasis on fighting as a team. Due to the limitations of medicine rating rules of wheelchair basketball sports, the player’s flexibility, strength and vision field will be subject to the extent of disability. In order to enhance the combat capability of the entire team, we need to the cooperation of the whole team.4.Strengthen international exchange. In the long run, it is essential to encourage young promising players to join in foreign league matches of high level, allow them practice quick and aggressive attack and defense to sharpen their skills and tactical ability through fierce competition.5.Establish high-level professional coaches. It’s better to develop a scientific back-up talents training system by selecting the wheelchair basketball talents through a variety of channels, and to improve the training mechanism and cultivate coaches with high potential especially. |
