Graduate Student Academic Moral Construction Research

Universities, as the important foundation for the cultivation of talents, tansmissionof knowledge and technological innovation, should be the symbol of social civilizationand the incubator of human morality. However, in the social transformation period inour country, acedemic morality has been reduced to a scarce quality for postgrades dueto vicious impact from the society. As the main force for our country’s academicresearch, postgraduates shoulder the historic mission to promote the development ofour country’s science and culture. Therefore, the moral quality of postgraduatesdoesnot only concern their personal state, but also concern the cultivation of innovativeand academic talents and further concern the strategy of developing the country byrelying on science and education. Thus, it is of great significance for the country,univesities and postgraduates themselves to enhance the academic moralityconstruction.Taking the full-time postgraduates as the sample for research, this study willillustrate the current situation of postgraduates’ academic morality, analyse the reasonsfor postgraduates’ academic anomie and further propose the countermeasures tostrengthen the construction of academic morality.This essay includes five chapters: the first is the introduction covering the currentsituation in domestic and international research; the second chapter states theachievements of the morality construction in our country and the importance andurgence to strengthen academic morality; the third chapter points out the currentsituation of postgraduate’s academic morality and the adverse effect; the fourth chapteranalyses the reasons for postgraduates’ academic anomie from such four aspects asmechanism, education, society and postgraduates themselves. Acording to relevantresearch, mechanism is the first factor causing academic anomie, and education andpostgraduates themselves follow.As the most important part, the fifth chapter focuseson the research of countermeasures. This chapter takes a perspective of ideological andpolitical education which is the innovation of this essay. For example, the author putsforward “the establishment and perfection of stimulative encouragement” which isbased on the stimulation mechanism in ideological and political education. Because ofthe various factors causing postgraduates’ academic anomie, countermeasures can startfrom the following aspects: strengthening the education of postgraduates’ acamedic morality; establishing and perfecting mechanism of academic morality; purifying theenvironment of academic morality education; strengthening self education andmanagement of postgraduates.
