As the development of information technology and multimedia technology, online learning has already become an important approach. Sociality is one of the important attributes of online learning, but in practice, the sociality hasn’t been fully reflected. How to reflect sociality and promoting social learning in online learning process has become a problem to be solved urgently.The thesis is based on social learning theory through the analysis of literature from home and abroad, compares the difference between the social learning and individual learning, expounds the main types of social learning, and then summary the social learning process. The main elements to promote social learning are roles, contents, behavior, environment and time, and their online social learning process is designed in detail. Then based on the constructivism theory and social learning theory, following the basic instruction design process, according to the principles of promote social learning, we construct the online social learning model, put forward the design scheme of online social learning process. The online social learning process is not just pure impart knowledge and skills training, but a knowledge socialization and learners socialization comprehensive process of communication, creating, choice, pursue, and so on.On the basis of theory research, the thesis carries out the online social learning model through web-based platform, tests the proposed five elements how to promote the online social learning effect. After carrying out the online social learning process in web-based platform, we analyze the recovery data with SPSS and Amos software. The results show that four factors of roles, contents, behavior, environment and time have positive impact on promoting social learning, and the role richness and behavior frequent degree have significant influence. The results correspond with the pre-hypothesis basically.In summary, the thesis integrate social learning theory and online learning process together, try to solve problems in online learning process in a new way. In practice, we carry out a complete online social learning process in web-based platform, inspect the social learning thoughts how to effect the online learning, and expect to provide some reference for the follow-up study.
