Since "the wave of migrant workers" at the end of1980s, migrant workers have become tremendous working power in the cities. They left the villages, entered into cities with totally strange everything to them, and are facing immense life risks in the cities and in urgent need for social insurance to solve their troubles and fears of living in the cities. However, in real life, the social insurance recognition, participation willing and payment situation are not as ideal as expected, and its purpose of ensuring their basic living standard is far from being reached. Female migrant workers, as a special group in the migrant workers, their existence in the society revealed even greater vulnerability and marginalization in the cities. So the situation of their social insurance is even more worrying. Social insurance, as one of the most basic part in social security system, could supply material assistance to help the female migrant workers improve their risk resistance ability. To participate in social insurance itself reflects the recognition and acceptance of female workers by the cities. Social insurance has a positive effect on the economical, social and psychological integration process of female migrant workers into the cities. So, it is of significant theoretical and practical meaning to study on the female workers’social insurance situation, its effect mechanism on urban-integration, and exploration of establishing social insurance system on urban-rural integration concept.This article studies on the urban-integration of female migrant workers, which is based on the theory of social integration in perspective of social insurance, and in an effort to have innovation on perspective. The main data collecting method is questionnaire survey and is assisted by focus group and in-depth interview. Questionnaire survey of migrant workers was mainly conducting during the period of their short-term return to the country, the scope of which covered15cities of Shandong province. The focus group and in-depth interview methods were adopted mainly in companies and service agencies in Qingdao and Jinan, where the migrant workers were congregated. The acquired information and data were studied with both quantitative and qualitative research methods. This article studies on the relationship between social insurance and the urban-integration of female migrant workers in3dimensions, which are the social insurance recognition, participation willing and payment situation. There are six parts in this article:part one is a general introduction of background, value of the study, and literature review; part two is the definition of the related concepts and theory, and an introduction of the study frame, methods and samples; part three is the gender difference analysis on social insurance recognition, participation willing and payment situation; part four is thorough analysis of the female workers’recognition, participation willing and payment situation of social insurance; part five is a elaboration on the effect mechanism of social insurance on the urban-integration of female migrant workers; part six is the conclusion and suggestions of reforming the social insurance system for female migrant workers to improve their recognition, participation willing and payment situation of social insurance, and suggestions to promote the urban-integration of female migrant workers, which aim at their better integrating into the city lives.
