Since Burt first used "the net of discussing important problem"in GSS in1984in the United States, individual social network became a very important issue. Most scholars study this issue to examine individual employment, individual adaptability and so on. But scholars put less attention to individual social network and individual mental and physical health. Along with the advancement of urbanization, a variety of social issues including physical and mental problems are prominent. The physical and mental health problems are not only with medical properties, but also social attributes. Everyone must be in a certain social network, and network has very important meaning in everyone’s life and health. A lot of results prove, personal social network has impact on personal’s health. When people face mental and physical problem, if there is enough social net support, the person will get the problem over easier and reach physical and mental harmoniously.Instead, lacking of social relationship is easier to make personal suffering from physical and mental disease and make the individual difficultly to maintain daily life. In the social level, individual social net is seen as the necessary supplement to security system which helps maintain social harmony.This paper will use "the social network and professional experience questionnaire survey data" in eight cities to do a specific description of the characteristics of the network of Chinese residents. On this basis, the paper further studies the relationship of social network and the physical and mental health. Based on the literature review, questionnaire survey, network analysis, table column analysis, convergence analysis, closely degree analysis, homogeneity and heterogeneity analysis, ologic analysis and so on, this paper discuss the relationship of two. According to my investigation, this paper mainly showed that the main social network factors which work are income and living standard.The foreign groups and local city residents who have different social networks their physical and mental health show differences.
