The participation in village autonomy of the Chinese contemporary rural women isthe inevitable requirement of growing development of village autonomy and the baseddemand of the autonomous system with Chinese characteristics. Long time inequalitybetween the men and women around the world has not been well solved. The eliminationof gender discrimination improves the status of women and help the women achieve realequality.Rural women’s participation in village autonomy is an important index of measuringthe position of women and the progress of social civilization.Rural women’s participation invillage autonomy is an important content of constructing the harmonious socialist of the newcountryside.Rural women’s participation in village autonomy level is an important measureof rural political civilization. Since the reforming and opening, Chinese economic progresshas been made great achievement, including the rising of the rural women’s education degree.But it is worth pondering, the level of the women’s participation has not been improvedlargely. In the vast rural areas, women’s participation in village autonomy and the proportionof degree is not high. System of rural women’s political participation mechanism is notperfect. In the main reasons we can summarize two aspects of subjective and objectivefactors. The comprehensive quality of rural women’s own subjective is not high, theobjective of economic and the political and cultural social environment is not conducive.Based on the existing problems of rural women’s political participation, the proposedinternal can improve women’s comprehensive quality, improve external environment,countermeasures and methods and guarantee rural women’s participation in villageself-government proportion.
