The Research Of Liu Shipei’s Anarchism

Liu Shipei (1884-1919) was an outstanding classicist who had brilliant achievements. He lived in the late Qing dynasty and the early China Republic. Liu Shipei was also a fickle thinker in the modern Chinese history and one of main representative figures who propagandized Anarchism in early Chinese.Invited to Japan by Zhang Taiyan in1907, Liu Shipei got in touch with Anarchism. And then he organizated the organization of "socialism seminar", and started《Tianyi》newspaper,《Heng》newspaper to publicize Anarchism with Zhangji and others. He became an anarchist. Keeping the core on human equality, Liu Shipei put forward a series of political opinions of Anarchism:No countries, No governments; Breaking families to achieving sexual equality; Abolishing army and property to advocate communism and Pursuiting a comfortable equality social ideal of Anarchism. The base of Liu Shipei’s anarchism is humanity. He believed that equality and cooperation is human’s nature. And he insisted that people can bring out the nature to freely combine with one another, and to achieve harmonious society after anarchy. He advocated that Anarchism Society can be achieved in the way of violent revolution. Through the comparison of Liu Shipei’s Anarchism, Western Anarchism and Xin Shiji’s Anarchism and Liu Shifu’s Anarchism, we can see similarities and differences among them, and find out the characteristics of Liu Shipei’s Anarchism. Liu ShiPei’s Anarchism thought had a certain influence on the bourgeois revolution, later anarchists and reforms of Chinese characters in the May Fourth Era.Taking the equality as the core, Liu Shipei’s Anarchism depended on people’s moral self-discipline, which not only divorced from reality but also lacked feasibility. So Liu ShiPei’s Anarchism Society was a Utopian.
