Background:Brain glioma is the most common intracranial malignant tumor, the incidence rate of it is approximately12/100000.From domestic reports about35%to60%of intracranial tumors are brain glioma. Due to the relative safety and persistent effection of herbs, the TCM therapy has got more and more attention and recognition from Western medicine fellows, and it becomes one of the important means for the treatment of glioma.Purpose:Peiyu Zhang, director of oncology at the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences, Guang An Men Hospital, under the tutelage of the renowned TCM oncologist Daizhao Zhagn, has been commi tted to the research of TCM treatment of cancer in clinical for over30years,In the TCM treatment for glioma, he has a unique experience especially. It is found that although experts of TCM oncology located glioma in the brain, as the glioma is the disease of sea of marrow, and the etiology of glioma is about the phlegm, dampness, stagnation of blood, poison which invade the brain, the treatments are still according to the theory of Zang-Fu organs.which stress the treat of liver, spleen, kidney and phlegm, dampness, stagnation of blood. The treatment for brain is rarely mentioned, only few experts use meridian-leading herbs in the prescription.Experience part summarizes clinical experience in the treatment of glioma of Peiyu Zhang as follows:(1)For the location of brain glial Director Peiyu Zhang, according to the theory of six meridians of Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Disease, find that brain is attached to Taiyang syndrome and Taiyang syndrome in the theory of six meridians.When the glioma disease is in the early stage, it is often becomes at Taiyang syndrome, with the progression of the disease, disease location diverts to Shaoyin, and then it will go into the parataxis of both Taiyang and Shaoyin.
