Objects:After investigation on the status of occupational pressure to the specialized nurses in cancer hospital, the main source of occupational pressure and its present status of nurses was analyzed. The purpose is to discuss the effective way to cope with the stress of the nurses, provide scientific basis to promote their physical and mental health, and provide reference and effective way for the hospital and nursing manager. Methods:A total of300female nursing staffs working in Shanxi Cancer Hospital were as the research object. The stressors questionnaire, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire, social support scale and sleep quality index scale questionnaire survey were conducted. SPSS13.0statistical software packages for the chi-square test, t test, analysis of variance, correlation and multiple stepwise regression analysis of Pearson were done.Results:1. The top three occupation stress sources were related with:patient factors, interpersonal relationships, and job expectations. The working pressure scored higher than that of the national ordinary mode, and the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05). The result of working points was higher than that of the normal model, and with statistical significance (p<0.05). The work pressure of nurses in the Dept. of Radiotherapy was lower than in the Dept. of Surgery and Internal Medicine, and with statistical significance(p<0.05).2. The coping style of nurses was mainly positive coping style. The most frequently used active coping style is to see things good side, and the most frequently used negative coping style is self comfort. The least used was drinking, smoking and drug taking, in order to release the troubles.3. Those nurses who are35years or above received more social support than the other age groups, and the married nurses got higher social support degree than the unmarried nurses. As to the subjective support scores, objective support scores, and total scores, undergraduates or above nurses was significantly higher than that of junior college and secondary specialized school nurses. As to the quality of sleep of the nursing staffs, those who are18-25years are prone to daytime dysfunction, and the undergraduates or above nurses are with short sleep latency than the others. Nurses in the Dept. of internal medicine are with a better sleep continuity, and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.05).5. The stressors of nursing job is related to the correlation coefficient of coping behavior and positive coping style. 6. By using the work pressure source of nurses as dependent variable (F=5.82R2=0.08), the system, the age group, education level, marital status, etc. as other variables, multivariate stepwise regression analysis was used done. The results showed that the main factors influencing the total scores of nurses’ work stress source are the system and active coping style.Conclusions:1, Nurses in the cancer hospital are with a higher pressure. The pressure source may be derived from the patient, interpersonal relationships and job expectations.2, Nurses in the Dept. of Radiotherapy are with less working pressure. Along with the increase of educational level and age, their working pressure decreased.3, Nurses use active coping style, only little with negative coping style.4, Along with the rise of education level and age, nurses received more social support i, and with a decrease of occupation pressure.at the same time...
