Eacute douard Lalo (1823-1892) was a famous19thcentury Hispanic-Frenchcomposer. Lalo did not create a lot of works in his life. What’s more popular are hisinstrumental music, including one cello concerto, one piano concerto, and fourensembles of violins and orchestra, i.e. Allegro Appassionato, Romantic Serenade,Andantino and Fantastic Narrative. Among Lalo’s musical works, Spanish Symphonycreated in1873is the most famous one.Spanish Symphony is not only gorgeous and attractive in its form, but alsofar-reaching in its content. It is actually a violin concerto, but the composer named it asymphony, which suggests that Lalo created with innovative symphonic perspective, rather than traditional violin solo-dominated composing. The whole paper consists of three parts, introduction, three chapters, andconclusion. The introduction is about the choice of the topic and the status quo of theresearch home and abroad. The first chapter is the creation of Spanish Symphony, introducing the profile of the composer and the general information about theconcerto. The second chapter is the work analysis of Spanish Symphony, analyzing themusic in the light of musical form. The third chapter is the performance and technicalpoints analysis, through analyzing several masters’ performance versions andcombining with my violin-practicing experience, explaining the recreation andapplication of common performance techniques.
