Xie-bai powder, resourced from Xiao Er Zhi Zheng Yao Jue, achieved the efficacy of clearing lung, antitussive and antiasthmatic. In my experiments the chromatographic pharmocodynamics and active ingredients was explored. The HPLC analysis method was established and the storage method of sample was decided at first. The result showed that 12 peaks were in HPLC and 11 of them were attributed. The peakl,2,3,4,5,10 were from Cortex Mori and peak 6,7,8,9,11 were from Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Praeparata Cum Melle. The correlation peaks of Cortex Lycii were not vested in HPLC. And the result also showed that the sample couldn’t store in form of solution, but should be stored in form of powder. Stored in solution, the sample formed a new peak rapidly in later 6 h.and RSD values of 11 peaks which recorded in HPLC were maximum to 49.13%; stored in powder, the sample was stabled in 72 h, RSD values of which were less than 5%. Therefore, powder form of storage was adopted, which dissolved in experiment instantly. The chromatographic pharmacodynamics of xie-bai powder was explored based on correlation analysis and regression analysis. As pharmacological indices, anti-inflammatory action and expectorant action were studied by the L9(34) orthogonal design, which permits to arrange 9 combinations,3 levers for each herb, were adopted. At the same time, the high performance liquid chromatographs were also studied by same orthogonal design. The result of Correlation analysis showed that 5 chromatographic peaks in 12 were positive correlated with anti-inflammatory and expectorant, which all derived from Cortex Mori. Regression analysis results showed that 8 chromatographic peaks in 12 were closely related to the regression equation, which were peak 2,5,6,7,8,9,10,12. Among of them, Peak 2,5,10 were from Cortex Mori and peak6,7,8,9,12 were from Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Praeparata Cum Melle. The final result showed that the peak 2 and peak 5 represented the ingrediens which were closely related with anti-inflammatory and expectorant which all derived from Cortex Mori. Through UV scanning in 190-380nm, maximum absorbance of which were at 290 nm and 325nm. By comparing the literature, the two chemical ingredients were identified...
