| Objectives:The experiments which mainly study about diabetic rats colon advance rate, muscle activity and colon smooth muscle aim to explore the influence of different blood glucose levels on diabetic rats colon dynamics.Methods:50adult Wistar rats were randomly divided into diabetic group (DM, n=40) and normal control group (NC, n=10), the DM group intraperitoneal with injection of streptozotocin (STZ)55mg/Kg once. Model rats were randomly divided into good blood sugar control group (DM1group, n=10), blood sugar control general group (DM2group, n=10), and blood sugar without control group (DM3group, n=12). DM1and DM2group rats were measured with insulin, DM3group were without intervention. After eight weeks we record the colon advance rate, muscle activity and colon smooth muscle experiments.Results1. Compared with NC group, blood glucose of DM group rats increased significantly after a week, but this result was stable in control group.2. Each group rat’s weight is no difference after a week. After4weeks DM3group rats were lower than other three groups, and8weeks later DM2and DM3group rats’weight were significantly droped.3. Compared with NC group Colon, colon advance rate of DM group decreased significantly.4. Muscle activity amplitude and frequency were no significant differences, but it showed the trend of diversification change.5. Colon smooth muscle experiment found that DM3group amplitude faster than other groups. Conclusions:The result of this study show that high sugar environment has an effect on colon dynamics, and different blood sugar levels made various changes in diverse positions of the colon. |
