Objective: Dental caries of primary teeth is high incidence and lowtreatment, it impacts on children’s oral health seriously; affects chewingfunction and the general health, affects its pronunciation and psychologicalalso; the prevention of primary teeth can reduce the incidence of caries, it hasa great significance for growth and development of children. In this study, detect the demineralization liquid calcium ion concentration by atomicabsorption spectrophotometer, and scanning electron microscopy method.Explore the effective of topical fluoride foam and fluor protector protect theprimary teeth demineralization, and to provide experimental basis for theclinical application of fluoride foam and fluorides protector in primary teeth.Methods:1Selected specimenSixty health front mandible primary incisors extracted because ofretained primary teeth were selected from the department of oral andmaxillofacial surgery of Hebei Medical University from June2012toSeptember2012.The selected primary teeth should be met with the followingstandards:1.1Under the10-times magnifying glass, the labial surface of the crownenamel is good in good condition, the color and luster are normal, no crack,1.2No dental fluorosis,1.3No tetracycline stained teeth,1.4No decay, defect, fracture.2Specimen processing and preservationThe roots of the selected anterior primary teeth were cut off while theenamel surface were protected and kept in N.S in the4℃refrigerator. 3Experimental procedures3.1Specimen processingThe specimen should be cleaned for5min by deionized water in theultrasonic cleaners.3.2Experimental area of the lip surface designThe mandibular primary anterior teeth crown specimens lip surface at thejunction of the lower1/3lower bound of the experimental area, to thedirection of the cut edge of2mm at the experimental zone sector, from thecenter line to the near and far in1mm experimental area left and right margins, experimental area of the labial surface of the crown form2mm x2mm. theroots were closed by the paraffin. Experimental area double-sided adhesiveprotection experiments outside the crown parts coating covered with a layer ofacid resistant nail polish dry naturally before re-coating a layer of naturaldried, remove the experimental zone of the double-sided adhesive to form2mm x2mm enamel exposed area, the deionized water rinse spare.3.3Specimens groupedSpecimens were randomly divided into3groups, each group20teeth.Group A is6000ppm fluoride foam,Group B is5000ppm fluoride protector,Group C is deionized water.3.4Topical fluorideGroup A (fluoride foam group): the labial surface treated with fluoridefoam for4min, and dry naturally.Group B (fluoride protector group): the labial surface treated withfluoride protector and dry naturally.Group C (deionized water group): soaking specimens placed in deionizedwater for4min, then blow the excess water and dry naturally. The specimens were put in5ml saturated acid buffer demineralization inclosed glass, and stored in37℃temperature in vitro respectively. The teethwere get out after72h and then to be detected the calcium ion in part saturatedacid buffer demineralization by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. 4Outcome measures and observation4.1Detected the calcium ion in part saturated acid buffer demineralization byatomic absorption spectrophotometer.4.2Observed the difference of enamel surface morphology structure amongthree groups by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).Results:1Macroscopic observation: enamel lip surface of each sample window areabecome dull, and presents the chalky changes, and a window outside coatednail polish on the surface of the enamel area more luster, found no form andcolor change.2The amount of ca2十dissolved2.1Fluoride foam group is115.54±14.85μg/ml;2.2Fluoride protector group is80.33±13.42μg/ml;2.3Deionized water control group is163.44±10.67μg/ml.There was significant difference between the experimental group(thefluoride foam group and the fluoride protector group) and the control group(the deionized water group)(P<0.05); There was significant differencebetween the fluoride foam group and the fluoride protector group (P <0.05).3Scanning electron microscopy observation shows:3.1Deionized water control group, observed is characterized by thedestruction of the enamel surface morphology; the enamel surface renderingas the form is not complete, large voids, cracks under the magnification of1000times; the dotted with acid corrosion of demineralization of enamelsurface cracks, some regions hard tissue lost completely, some hard tissue areahas collapsed, fracture, some areas as the honeycomb, basically nomineralization white sediments under the magnification of3000times.3.2Fluoride protector group, found that protective lacquer coating fluorinetooth enamel surface is more complete, honeycomb structure is not obvious, although there are a few pore, but only some of the smaller diameter, irregularpores, part of the area is small, dense, uniform pore, surface demineralizationof dental enamel surface more sediment mineralization reaction again, somelarger sediment, rendered as white crumb. 3.3Fluoride foam group, compared with fluoride protector unit, photos havesimilarities, demineralization of formation of the honeycomb structure, formation of the pore diameter is larger, and more, parts of the enamel surfacecracks, the enamel surface small block of sedimentary mineralization white, with less sediment. Conclusion:Fluoride foam and Fluor protector can both improve the resistance to acidof the primary teeth enamel and reduce the solubility of primary teeth enameland promote its mineralization; Fluoride protector has more obviousadvantage than fluoride foam.
